BC as a space for art-practice is conceived as a house that hosts many ideas and point of views, a venue for arts to fuse and multiply.

Shivangi Singh

Trained in visual arts, Shivangi Singh is interested in a material exploration of video, photograph, sound and code. She finds these materially signicant as mediums which can be moulded, reproduced, reiterated, edited and reworked with. After a brief internship with a children books publishing house, she is also trying to look into the narrative and illustrative styles of the stories which are most circulated in children books. She plays with ideas of ctional creatures and thinks about the organizations and organisms which seem to exist in these imagined categories. She has a sense of wonder about the scale of cellular organisms and the magnitude of the stars spaced out into constellations. In a larger sense, she work with the dilemma of representation and comprehension of that which cannot be represented in the limits and norms of language. Her work 'Tiddu aaja isko khaaja' was featured in our show Stutter in your eloquence
